Wyoming Territorial Prison Museum

Volunteers

With a small staff of only 4 full time employees, the site relies heavily on volunteers. Positions include: living history interpreter, merchandise and sales in the historic mercantile, camp hosts, maintenance, marketing coordinator, tour guides, researchers, visitor center hosts/greeters, oral historian, education coordinator, collections assistant and board members. Volunteers receive an intimate knowledge of the site’s history, educational and research opportunities, networking with a professional staff, development of skills and a professional reference. For more information about the volunteer program, please contact Teresa Sherwood at tsherw@state.wy.us or call 745-6161 and ask to speak with the AmeriCorps member.
